Groom Wedding Gift
Yes, the groom does get a present. Well, sometimes he does if the bride remembers he is part of the wedding. Many brides do want to give their future husbands a gift to show her love and affection. She may spend days and days trying to come up with the perfect gift. To help out these clueless brides here are some ideas for wedding gifts for the groom.
One really practical gift is a good watch. Most men already have watches but a really good high end watch is something few men have already purchased for themselves. The bride should spend a lot of time gauging her future husband’s taste. Does he like fancy or ornate jewelry? Does he like sporty jewelry or things that are very plain? Does he like form over function?
After getting an idea about his likes and dislikes, it is time to visit the jewelry store. Be sure to ask for a male sales clerk so that you can get a man’s point of view. Tell the clerk about what your fiancé likes and doesn’t like. Ask him to show you a selection. If you don’t find anything you think is suitable, go to the next store. Keep looking until you find the perfect watch.
If your future husband is a little old-fashioned, he might like an antique pocket watch. At some time you should mention pocket watches in front of him and watch his reaction. If he seems receptive, you might be on to something. You should visit antique stores and even some pawn shops if they carry what you are looking for. If you find the perfect pocket watch, make sure it works. It would be so sad to give your future groom the perfect pocket watch and find out it doesn’t keep time. Both of you would be so disappointed,
If your future husband likes elegant, stylish clothes, you might consider cuff links. If he doesn’t have shirts with French cuffs, you can include a few shirts as part of the gift. Like the pocket watch, you might think about getting antique cuff links. Haunt the antique stores in your town until you know everything available. If you don’t find what you want, you probably will have to go new cuff link route. Nothing wrong with that. If you buy new cuff links, you might want to buy plain ones that you can monogram. If your fiancé likes ornate jewelry, you could buy a tasteful pair of links with a small diamond or some other precious stone. A monogram still might be a great touch.
If your fiancé is the rugged type who would hate a watch of any kind and wouldn’t wear cuff links if you paid him, you need to think outside the box. What are his hobbies? What are his likes and dislikes? You should really know him by now. Think. Don’t give him something you want him to try but have no idea whether or not he will like it. Men don’t change just because you want him to. Think about sports. Does he like a special team or player? Some kind of sports memorable might mean nothing to you and be the greatest gift ever for him.
If you still have nothing and are still desperate for the perfect gift, ask his friends what he would like. Swear them to secrecy, of course. If your friends can’t help, give up. He probably won’t expecting anything anyway.
